I'm trying to deploy a report remotely using ReportViewer 11. I've developed the Report itself on the instance of the virtual server where the database is installed (Windows 2008R2, SQL Server 2008R2) using VS2008 on the server. The report appears to work when I view the results from within VS in that I get the results I expect.
The application which is going to be used with the database (developed using VS2012 on my workstation), is itself going to be sitting on another virtual server (Windows 2012, IIS 8).
I'm now trying to configure the application on the IIS server so that the report can be viewed when the application is run. When I browse to the application on the IIS server, I get the above error message.
From reading one or two posts here and elsewhere it appears that I need to deploy the ReportViewer control and also the Microsoft CLR types for SQL Server to the server.
My questions are
1) which server do I need to install these on, the one running SQL Server or the one running IIS?
2) is the setup I'm using with two servers going to be a issue?
Also, am I correct in assuming that this is in fact the cause of the problem?
